What personal data we collect and why we collect it (GDPR)
When you book an Experience, you are asked to fill out a form. We collect the following data:
- Your first and last name
- E-mail address
- Phone number
This data is necessary to be able to host the event, and to be able to contact you about your booking if necessary. The data is deleted in full every six months. We keep a copy of your invoice for 7 years. This will not be published anywhere. We keep this copy in order to comply with the Dutch administrative laws, specifically for TAX registration.
Escapists follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Like any other website, Escapists uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information. If you book an Escape Experience on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and phone number in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Escapists does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Who we share your data with
When you book an Escape Experience, we share your data with SimplyBook.Me, and Escapists. This is for administrative purposes only.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
